30-Year Fixed Rate • Freddie Mac Data
Why this exists, and who's behind it.
I'm Jim Byrnes. I built Mortgage Rate Monitor because I wanted a heads-up when the 30-year fixed rate moved — and didn't want to install another app or follow another newsletter to get it.
Once a week, Freddie Mac publishes its Primary Mortgage Market Survey (the standard 30-year fixed rate quoted in headlines). This site checks for the new number via the Federal Reserve's FRED API. If the rate moved, you get one email. If it didn't, you get nothing.
That's the whole thing. No analytics following you around the web, no ads, no handoff to a mortgage broker. Your email is used for rate alerts and nothing else — see the privacy page for the details.
